This course is specifically designed for more experienced knitters who want to expand their techniques and transform the possibilities of their knitting. We'll start the week with an introduction to garment construction and the creative possibilities of the saddle shoulder technique, followed by hands-on classes where you'll explore marled colorwork, learn how to build a garment from two simple rectangular saddle pieces, and discover how layering colors creates rich, textured effects. After the introductory classes, we dive into an in-depth project: the Grafiet saddle vest, inspired by Maaike's Grafiet sweater and Dons cardigan, both featured in Laine Magazine and celebrated for their inventive construction and refined finishing. Additionally, you'll learn clever shortcuts and techniques, from transformative finishing methods that give your handknits a polished, store-bought look to garment fit and shaping tips tailored to your own measurements. Powerful tips that can make a major difference in your projects.
